Capabilities shaped around the whole of your wealth

Our services are arranged in three parts. At Zantara Group we start with an assessment of what exists before proposing anything new, then we build your requirements around what you truly need.

Investment Management

Before any capital moves, we set down what the money is for. That means agreeing your return requirement, your tolerance for drawdown, your liquidity needs across different time horizons and any constraints you wish to impose. The resulting investment policy becomes the document everything else is measured against.

Zantara Group designs allocations from the whole balance sheet rather than the liquid slice of it. If forty per cent of a family's net worth sits in property and art, that has consequences for what the remaining sixty per cent should be doing. Portfolios are reviewed on a set schedule and rebalanced when the case for doing so is stronger than the cost.

Managers are researched independently and appointed strictly on merit. Additionally, Zantara Group is unafraid to replace them when performance or process deteriorates. We negotiate fees on your behalf and disclose every layer of cost, including the ones that are usually left in a footnote.

Consolidated reporting across custodians, entities, currencies and asset types, so that the family sees one picture rather than eleven statements. Where something has gone wrong, it appears near the top so that we can point out exactly where the issue is and build the solutions to help.

For families who want exposure beyond funds, we source and assess direct opportunities. Our own interests give us useful reach into design practices, cultural property, hospitality and adjacent businesses where an owner-operator is looking for capital from someone who understands the field.

Wealth Structuring

We help families set out how holdings will pass, to whom and on what terms. That covers the legal instruments, trusts, foundations, holding companies and partnerships, alongside the harder work of preparing the people who will receive them. Where a collection or an operating asset is involved, we address the awkward questions early: who wants it, who can afford to keep it and what happens if nobody does.

Wealth held collectively needs rules for how decisions get made. We assist families in drafting constitutions or charters, establishing councils, defining decision rights and setting up processes for handling disagreement before it becomes litigation. We also run education programmes for younger family members, so that inheritance arrives with some sense of preparation behind it.

We deal daily with families whose lives span geographies. We coordinate residency and domicile planning, advise on the shape of holding structures across jurisdictions and manage the interaction between global positions. We are not a law firm or a tax practice, so we appoint and instruct specialists in each jurisdiction and hold the whole picture together on your behalf.

From the initial question of what you want to achieve through to the operating vehicle that achieves it. We advise on whether a foundation, a donor-advised fund or direct grant-making best suits the ambition, then set it up and support the running of it. Given our own focus, we are particularly well equipped where the mission touches art, architecture, culture, heritage or a combination of the sort.

Private Assets

We work with collections at every stage, from the first acquisition to eventual disposal or gift. Our support covers:

  • Collection strategy, including where a collection is heading and what it is missing
  • Acquisition and sale, whether at auction, through dealers or privately
  • Valuation, cataloguing and inventory management
  • Provenance and title research
  • Conservation planning and condition monitoring
  • Storage, transport and freeport arrangements
  • Specialist insurance placement and claims support
  • Loans to museums and exhibition management

Where families wish to release capital against a collection, we can arrange art-backed lending through lenders who understand the security they are taking.

Classic cars, wine, watches, jewellery, furniture, yachts and aircraft. Each of these carries its own valuation conventions, storage requirements and insurance quirks. We hold the records and arrange the necessary specialists. Our aim is to keep the whole inventory current so that nothing surfaces unexpectedly during a probate process.

Residential portfolios across multiple countries, managed as a portfolio rather than as a series of unrelated houses. We handle acquisition and disposal, oversee refurbishment and development projects, appoint architects and contractors, manage household staffing arrangements and coordinate security. Our familiarity with design practice is genuinely useful here. We know what good work looks like and what it should cost.

The daily machinery of a family's financial life. Bill payment and personal accounting. Payroll for household employees. Document custody and digital records. Travel logistics. Cyber protection and privacy management. None of this is glamorous, yet all of it consumes an enormous amount of a principal's attention if nobody else is doing it.
