Founded on the belief that culture is an asset class
Zantara Group is a multi-family office headquartered in Cambridge. We provide the full range of services a substantial family requires, from portfolio management through to household administration, with a particular depth in art, architecture and cultural philanthropy.

How we started
The firm grew out of a problem its founders kept encountering from the other side of the table.
Families with serious cultural holdings were being served by two separate professions that rarely spoke to one another. On one side sat the wealth managers, competent with securities and largely indifferent to anything hanging on a wall. On the other sat the art advisors, deeply knowledgeable about the object but with no view on how it interacted with the rest of the balance sheet, the tax position or the succession plan.
The result was predictable. Collections went uninsured or under-insured. Works crossed borders without anyone considering the consequences. Estates were structured as though the most valuable and least liquid holdings simply did not exist. Second generations inherited objects they neither wanted nor understood how to sell, and the family lost both the money and the meaning.
Zantara Group was formed to hold both halves at once. We are financially rigorous in the way a good institutional investor is rigorous. We are also fluent in what a collection is, how it is built, what it costs to keep and what it takes to pass on well.

How we are set up
At Zantara Group, we believe our role is to be the centre of gravity that keeps affluent families and their advisors culturally aligned and serving the same long-term objectives.
From our office in Cambridge, we work across jurisdictions as one firm, coordinating the legal, tax, investment and practical aspects of a family's affairs without allowing them to become separate conversations.
Where specialist expertise is required, we work alongside a network of trusted affiliates and independent professionals whose capabilities complement our own. The result is a model built on true collaboration. Every advisor around the table understands the wider picture, and every recommendation is considered in the context of the family's whole balance sheet.
